 KECSAC Teacher of the Year!!! Samantha Lawson  The Outstanding Teacher of the Year for 2009-2010 is Samantha Denise Lawson of Gateway Children’s Services in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Ms. Lawson came to Hope Hill Children’s Home and later Gateway Children’s Services as a Special Education teacher in 2005, where she excelled in diagnosing educational, social and emotional deficiencies in youth, individualizing instruction to meet her students’ needs and to underscore their strengths. Hopey Newkirk notes: “Samantha sees ‘beyond school’ for her students and helps them to prepare for the work force, and/or obtain post secondary education. More importantly, she provides the motivation and skills they need to become productive members of society.” |
